[Places I’ve Roamed] Iceberg Lake Hike, Glacier National Park

The Iceberg Lake trail starts behind the Swiftcurrent Cabins in Many Glacier, on the east side of Glacier National Park, and took us on an almost ten-mile round trip hike with an elevation gain of over 1200 feet. Much of the trail passes through fairly open terrain, however there are some densely forested areas around the middle section of the hike. The weather was hot and fluctuated between intense heat, mild rain, and freezing cold once we reached the snow fields leading to the lake itself. The Ptarmigan Wall blocks further views of to the west.
